Located in the center of Maryland and home to the state capital of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County is Maryland's heart. The county is home to half a million people. Magothy River, Severn River, South River, and West River are among the largest tributaries. Baltimore City and Baltimore County are to the north, Howard County is to the northwest, Kent County is to the Northeast, and Prince George's County is to the southwest.
